This article explains the differences between Draft and Public events in Eventee, and how your publishing choices affect event visibility and accessibility.
When you create a new event, it starts as a Draft. This is where you prepare your event by adding the program, speakers, and testing features before making it live.
Draft events are:
Not indexed by search engines like Google or Bing.
Not publicly listed in the Eventee app.
Accessible only via a temporary preview link or QR code.
Visible only to your organizational team (admins and moderators) in the Eventee app, marked with a “Draft” tag.
When your event is ready, you can publish it with flexible options to control where and how it is visible. We’ll dive into those options shortly, but first, here are a few important things to know about public events:
Making your event public in any capacity unlocks the ability to invite attendees and get a permanent event link.

Publishing the apps determines whether your event is listed and searchable within the Eventee app.
If you publish the apps:
Your event will be publicly listed and searchable in the Eventee app.
Invited attendees will automatically see your event on their app home screen after logging in.
Depending on privacy settings, others may or may not be able to access it.
If you do NOT publish the apps:
Your event will not appear publicly in the Eventee app.
Only those with an invitation, magic link, or QR code can access it.
The event website is a public site to promote your event, accessible to anyone on the internet.
Publishing the website:
The site will be indexed by search engines like Google and Bing.
Anyone can find and visit the website by searching for it online.
NOT publishing the website:
The site will not be indexed by search engines.
If previously public, the site may still appear in search results temporarily, but should be gradually removed by search engines.
Scenario | Search Engine Indexing | Event listed in Eventee | Access Method |
Publish Apps & Website | Yes | Yes | Apps & Website publicly searchable |
Publish Apps Only (No Website) | No | Yes | Event publicly searchable via Eventee apps, website not searchable |
Publish Website Only (No Apps) | Yes | No | Website public; app not searchable and accessible only via QR code, invite, magic link |
If you choose to publish only the event website without publishing the mobile and web apps:
The website will not display the “Join event” button that leads to the app.
The footer containing app download links and the event QR code will be hidden.
Access to the app remains by invitation, magic link or QR code.
